US cult of greed is now a global environmental threat.
Excessive consumption has spread to developing countries and could wipe out efforts to slow climate change.
That's very sad. Reading this made me think about the song Society by Eddie Vedder.
How can we change this? I'd like to hear any suggestions. When the environment is at stake anything is valid.

If you live in the US would be nice for you to start a campaign, raising those issues to the public and pressuring Obama and RIAA.
February 3, 2010: Bill Gates says censorship is OK
Bill Gates said that the Chinese Golden Shield censorship project is OK.
Steve Ballmer agreed. I'm not surprised to hear that from those greedy proponents of proprietary software since proprietary software is basically a dictatorship - and often it imposes censorship with tools such as DRM.
Notice that they said: "Countries with extreme freedom speech laws".
What does that even mean?
February 3, 2010: Man arrested for recording rap song
Marc Hall was arrested for recording a "violent" rap song criticizing the US army's stop-loss policy and sending it to The Pentagon.
The only thing really violent in this situation is the stop-loss policy. Where is the First Amendment?
If you live in Brazil, I suggest hearing Facção Central, they have some interesting "violent" rap songs.
September 9, 2009: Amazon is Big Brother
Amazon remotely deletes purchased copies of 1984 and animal farm from thousands of kindles.
That's why I insist you must reject all products and software with DRM and proprietary software in general. Society needs to choose free software: it's a matter of freedom, solidarity and democracy over proprietary software which is basically a dictatorship.
It's quite ironic that the books are all about a dictatorship constantly watching you.

It shows the potential that commercial free software games have. I hope someday we have plenty of commercial free software games available.

I hope that Youtube and other video services adopt this. Adobe is seducing many users to use their non free flash plugin, thus disrespecting the freedom of the web. I firmly refuse to watch youtube videos and flash content and I hope someday I'll be able to see videos in the net using Theora that is free, open and standard. Congratulations for adopting this attitude dailymotion.

If you upload videos on Youtube, make them available for free download elsewhere in a free format. Youtube may require people to have the non-free Adobe flash plugin, since Gnash don't work very well with Youtube videos. Software developers, please help improve Gnash.
(UPDATE) June 21, 2009:
It's possible to watch Youtube videos only with free software now,
but this is still valid because we never know how the next version
of the proprietary, opressor and anti-ethical flash plugin will be
like, so, until Youtube adopt Theora, it's better to follow this
policy.
