NCannons

What is NCannons?

This is NCannons, a ncurses game of cannons in war for territory!

Most games keep the users divided and helpless with anti-ethical licenses and EULAs. By contrast, NCannons is an free game. Free refers to freedom, not price. It does respect your freedom.

I'm making it free because I belive that people should be able to control their lives, share software and live in a better society.

For the same reason that non-free software developers should be punished, free software developers should be rewarded. If you enjoyed this game, and if you can, reward me. There's no need to do this, but anything you can do will be appreciated.

I created NCannons to replace CannonWar, a game that I had written together with my friend William Meira. It was written in Java, using the Swing library, which does not work on entirely free Operating Systems. CannonWar is free software per se, but can not exist in the Free World, thus this game. Also, it's because I enjoy this kind of game and I hope that you will enjoy it too.

• Version 0.3
• NCannons is now in the public domain. I don't believe that anyone would turn this specific piece of software proprietary, so I think there's no need to use the GPL for NCannons. However, for important and large pieces of software it is imperative to use the GPL to safeguard the freedom of all the users of that software.
• New option to show default values for physical constants.
• Version 0.2
• When one player loses, the game asks if the player wants to play again.
• Added wind effects.
• The user can change the mass of the projectile, the gravity constant and can disable wind effects;
• The gen_obstacle function has changed, it's more interesting now.
• The projectile position calculation continues if it goes above the screen.
• Obstacle dropping - There is no obstacle floating out there anymore.
• Max Velocity changed.
• Fixed a position issue of the obstacles.
